She is certified in veterinary acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) and is excited to offer this and other holistic healing services at the clinic.
In 2015, Dr. Holland became the clinic owner and has been working diligently to continue the tradition of first class medicine and small town charm by becoming a Fear Free and Cat-Friendly Practice as well as working to update the boarding facility and clinic overall to meet these priorities. In 2020, Dr. Holland was voted "favorite veterinarian" in Dallas County and she was honored to be named Veterinarian of the Year for Iowa in 2021.
Outside of work, Dr. Holland enjoys gardening, hiking, reading, Cubs baseball, and spending time with family. Dr. Holland and her husband live in Adel with their cats Tush, Kia, and Storm; dog Yastrzemski (Yaz); geckos Gertrude and Indy; and sons, Keaton, Sullivan, and Lewis.

Dr. Kilgore's favorite thing about being a veterinarian is having a role in the human-animal bond. She enjoys making human connections and being surrounded by people who love animals.

Dr. Powers started popping into Adel Veterinary Clinic several years ago to learn and mentor under Dr. Holland and Dr. Rohret. She also not-so-secretly hoped to join the team someday.
Dr. Powers will marry her fiancé, Justin, this summer. They enjoy traveling to the national parks, hiking and kayaking. Dr. Powers also enjoys running, watching movies, crafting, and has recently taken up indoor gardening.

Hey! My name is Heidiann and I rejoined the Adel Veterinary Clinic team in April 2018. I previously worked at Adel Veterinary Clinic for three years as a receptionist. I graduated from DMACC's Legal Assistant Program and then went on to graduate from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor's Degree.
I was born and raised in Adel and am beyond grateful to live and work in this amazing community. When I'm not at the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Billy, and our two sons, Rylan and Kaeden. Our house is run by our two cats, Shadow and Stripey, both alums of Adel Veterinary Clinic. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, watching Iowa Hawkeye and Kansas City Chief football, and attending sporting and other events for my boys.
The best part of my day is working with our incredible team to strengthen the bond between our clients and their pets. (We have the BEST team, clients and pets around!)

Hi there! My name is Odessa and I started at the Adel Veterinary Clinic in August of 2021. I grew up in Adel and recently moved back to be closer to family. My boyfriend and I bought our first house and decided to take on a big renovation project. Thankfully both sides of our family have a lot of experience in home building and renovations, so we have plenty of help and support. Shortly after moving the AVC had an opening and it was the perfect opportunity to start my dream career in the veterinary field. In my free time I enjoy making crafts, wood working, camping/hiking, and training my dog Rusty. I am very excited to continue to learn and grow throughout my time here at the clinic.
Hey! I'm Nikki and I started with Adel Vet Clinic in July 2020. I recently moved to Iowa from Colorado where I also worked at a vet hospital. In 2018 I graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Zoology. I live with my Lab mix, Chassis. In my spare time, I love to go to the dirt track and watch some racing, take road trips home to CO, and of course, play with Chassis as much as possible.
Hey there! My name is Abbey and I started at the Adel Veterinary Clinic in March of 2021. I moved to Adel from Cedar Falls looking for a fresh start. AVC has been just that and I'm looking forward to learning so much here. I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback back home in Cedar Falls, Rocky, who is my favorite boy. I love taking him on walks, going on adventures and finding cool new spots. In my free time I like to binge watch new tv shows I find as well as get outside and camp with my friends. One fun fact about me is that I've bungee jumped off of the world's highest bungee bridge in South Africa.

My kids Slater and Karly have their 4H cows Bella, Phil, and Alfalfa, and the most new to are family are my kids ducks and chickens, which has been fun watching them grow. Hi! My name is Amy. I have always had a love for animals and knew from a very young age that working with them was the right career for me. I attended the Bel-Rea Institute, where I completed my schooling in March 2007 with an Associate of Applied Science degree in animal technology and from there went on to get my state certification in June 2007. I have had the pleasure of working in small and large animal clinics, a specialty clinic specializing in neurology, and even enjoyed some time working in the pet insurance industry. My husband Ty and I live on a beautiful little acreage near Dallas Center and have two fur babies. Dierks a Labrador Retriever and Benelli an American Bully. In our spare time, my husband and I love to be outdoors! A few of our favorite activities are hiking, camping, riding horses and boating. Oh! And traveling back to my home state…Colorado! I am so excited to be a part of the Adel Veterinary Clinic family. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members!
Chere has been with us since 2009 as part of our dedicated Animal Care Team. She works HARD to keep the pets safe, happy, fed, & LOVED while they stay in our amazing boarding facility. She is one of the many reasons why your pets LOVE to stay with us, & makes it feel like home away from home. Chere is an amazing asset to our clinic & we are so lucky to have her.
Hi! My name Leanne and I've worked as kennel staff for about nine years. I recently took on cleaning the clinic twice a week for the past year and have done a good amount of the painting during our remodeling. I have two daughters, one married with a family and one in 8th grade. I have a cat, Cheddar, who I didn't even know I needed! I didn't realize how much I needed a pet until I got Cheddar. He can sit on command, he's learning to walk on a leash, and I trained him that instead of getting on my counters, he gets on HIS chair when I'm in the kitchen. He's the exact right addition to my life!
Hi! My name is Rylan and I joined AVC in 2021. You will find me in the boarding facility on the weekends caring for the boarding guests. I am currently a student at ADM High School and in my free time I enjoy reading and writing sci-fi and fantasy and gaming. I have 2 cats at home, Stripey and Shadow who “think” that they rule the roost!
Though she passed away in 2020, Smush’s presence remains at the clinic where she was spoiled over her 20+ years as a clinic cat. One of her final gifts to our team was helping us develop a way to show clients how we prefer to say goodbyes. Click here, for more information about our end of life care and a look at our peaceful and loving goodbye to our dear Smush Face. Thanks for visiting our site!
