Dr. Elizabeth Holland graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008 where she was named the top graduate in small animal medicine. After graduation, she joined the team at Adel Veterinary Clinic under the leadership of Dr Pat Rohret.
Dr. Holland enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine including nutrition, preventative medicine and surgery. She has a special fondness for cats and enjoys helping them learn to enjoy (or at least not despise!) their annual visits to the veterinary clinic. She is certified in veterinary acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) and is excited to offer this and other holistic healing services at the clinic.
In 2015, Dr. Holland became the clinic owner and has been working diligently to continue the tradition of first class medicine and small town charm by becoming a Fear Free and Cat Friendly Practice as well as working to update the boarding facility and clinic overall to meet these priorities.
Outside of work, Dr. Holland enjoys gardening, hiking, reading, Cubs baseball and spending time with family. Dr. Holland and her husband live in Adel with their cats Tush, Kia and Storm; geckos Gertrude and Indy; and sons, Keaton, Sullivan and Lewis.
Dr. Holland is involved in the Adel Chamber, a member of the Adel Community Visioning steering committee and a member of the Executive Board and Small Animal Committee for the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Kilgore is a member of the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Kilgore and her husgand Andy have two daughters, Evangeline Grace and Olivia Rae. Their family also includes fur children: 2 cats (Majik Max Kitty Von Kitterson and Loki Bane) and 1 dog, a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog (Thor).
Dr. Kilgore's interests include reading, gardening, cooking/baking, history, movies, and traveling and enjoying the outdoors. Dr. Kilgore's interests include medicine related cases and seeing exotic animals.
Dr. Kilgore's favorite thing about being a veterinarian is having a role in the human-animal bond. She enjoys watching a client's new puppy or kitten grow up and being apart of keeping that life healthy and thriving. She enjoys making human connections and being surrounded by people who love animals.

Hey! My name is Heidiann and I rejoined the Adel Veterinary Clinic team in April 2018. I previously worked at Adel Veterinary Clinic for three years as a receptionist. I graduated from DMACC's Legal Assistant Program and then went on to graduate from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor's Degree.
I was born and raised in Adel and am beyond grateful to live and work in this amazing community. When I'm not at the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Billy, and our two sons, Rylan and Kaeden. Our house is run by our two cats, Shadow and Stripey, both alums of Adel Veterinary Clinic. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, watching Iowa Hawkeye and Kansas City Chief football, and attending sporting and other events for my boys.
The best part of my day is working with our incredible team to strengthen the bond between our clients and their pets. (We have the BEST team, clients and pets around!)
Hey, I’m Hanna. I have re-joined the AVC team in March of 2017 but previously worked here for just about 4 year. I live in the country outside of Adel with my husband Joel and our daughter Cheyenne. We have a blue heeler named Allie and a boarder collie/coon hound mix named Montana. In my free time I love to ride horses and dirt bikes, go camping, and spending time with my family.
Hello, my name is Melisha. I started at the clinic back in 2007 as a receptionist, and then moved into the exam rooms as an assistant, to my current role as our at home patient care coordinator/marketing specialist. I love being able to communicate with our clients on how their pets are doing after an appointment or just to help answer a quick question that they may be experiencing. I have a strong passion for the veterinary field and making sure your pet has the best team around.
I live in Adel with my husband Jesse. We are doing our best at raising a few kiddos, who tend to be very active in sports. We have a golden-doodle Maxim that enjoys snuggling under blankets all day long. When we find ourselves with free time, we like to spend it exploring the outdoors or with friends. We love ADEL & the community!
Hey there folks, Allyson Whipple speaking here! It’s been an inspiring beginning here at AVC, learning about and loving our four-legged friends. I’m an Iowa native with adventure in my soul and an abnormally large heart to pursue a career that cares for all the ankle biters, gentle giants and the inbetweens. You can find me on a gravel road, in the fields or on a trail if my chevy isn’t sitting pretty behind the clinic. A small farmhouse is home to myself, my significant other and our two best companions, Tucker and Grizzly. I’ve been gifted many blessings and opportunities in my life, working alongside Dr.Holland and the AVC team is one of them.
Hi! My name is Emily, and I started with the Adel Veterinary Clinic in November 2020. I grew up in small-town northwest Iowa, graduated from the University of Northern Iowa, then moved to Adel after marrying my husband in June. We have a cat, Max, and just adopted our first puppy, Louie! I’ve always had a love for pets of all shapes and sizes! My favorite things to do include spending time outdoors, doing DIY projects, binge-watching my favorite shows, and spending time with family and friends.
Hi! I’m Gabby and I’m from Des Moines, Iowa. I started at AVC in November 2020. I have a greyhound mix named Hudson who I love to spend my free time with! I also enjoy writing, photography, and spending time with friends and family.
Hi, I’m Morgan and I started with Adel Veterinary Clinic in July of 2020. I grew up in Adel. I have two dogs, two turtles, and a horse! I like to spend my free time riding horses, making music, and doing anything outdoors.
Dylan joined Adel Veterinary Clinic in August of 2020. He had a cat his whole life (who, ironically, he never took to the vet) but got his first puppy in 2019--a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Minnie. This thrust Dylan into the wonderful world of puppy parenthood and paved the way for a seemingly infinite number of experiences. He now plans to study Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University sometime in the near future. When he's not giving the best client/patient care he can, Dylan can be found baking, hosting a mystery dinner party, sporting one of his hundreds of pairs of socks, or holding a chihuahua (he absolutely loves them!).
Hey! I'm Nikki and I started with Adel Vet Clinic in July 2020. I recently moved to Iowa from Colorado where I also worked at a vet hospital. In 2018 I graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Zoology. I live here in Adel with my boyfriend and our 7-month-old Lab mix puppy, Chassis. In our spare time, we love to go to the dirt track and watch some racing, take road trips home to CO, and of course, play with our puppy as much as possible.
Hello, my name is Rachelle. I started working at Adel Veterinary Clinic in October 2017. I have two children, one in college and one finishing high school. We have a dog, two cats, a cockatiel, and a guinea pig. In my free time I like to read, try new recipes, and make different types of crafts.
Hey everyone! My name is Jessica and I joined the Adel Clinic team in June of 2019. I recently moved to West Des Moines, but I grew up on a farm outside of Earling, IA. I went to ISU for a year and then transferred to DMACC where I graduated from their Vet Tech program. I have a special place in my heart for dogs, but I do not pass up a chance to hold a cute cat too. I love doing anything that involves being outdoors, my favorite season is Fall, and my go to binge watching shows are Friends and New Girl. I also enjoy being surrounded by family and friends.
My name is Jill. I first started working as a Vet Tech right after I graduated from high school in 1998 at Hubbell Animal Hospital. I then Join Adel Vet Clinic in 2006.
I am married to my husband Justin in 2001 and we have two kids that keep us very active in sports and 4H. I love when I get a chance to watch and cheer my kids on during their sporting events, or when they get out there and show their cows. During the summer we also love to go camping. We have several animals, we have two chocolate labs; Tuff and Wellington, and two cats; Dexter and Peaches. My kids Slater and Karly have their 4H cows Bella, Phil, and Alfalfa, and the most new to are family are my kids ducks and chickens, which has been fun watching them grow. Who would have guessed they had such different personalities?!
Hi, my name is Brandy. I joined the Adel Veterinary Clinic team in 2007. I live in Adel with my husband Brad and our daughter Elana. We have a sweet little dog, Birdie, who is Elana's best friend. Our crew also includes three indoor cats with very different personalitiies, Olive, Trixie and Pudge. It continues to be my pleasure to serve our clients so their experience at Adel Veterinary Clinic is an enjoyable one for them and their furry companions.
Come back soon for Chere's bio!
Hi! My name Leanne and I've worked as kennel staff for about nine years. I recently took on cleaning the clinic twice a week for the past year and have done a good amount of the painting during our remodeling. I have two daughters, one married with a family and one in 8th grade. I have a cat, Cheddar, who I didn't even know I needed! I didn't realize how much I needed a pet until I got Cheddar. He can sit on command, he's learning to walk on a leash, and I trained him that instead of getting on my counters, he gets on HIS chair when I'm in the kitchen. He's the exact right addition to my life!
Dr. Rohret was kind enough to save me after I had an unfortunate mishap with a wood pile at 8 weeks of age. I have spent my entire life trying to get the humans here at AVC organized, but as all humans do, they seldom listen. I like to nap on the break room chairs, pick out my favorite co-workers to rub on, and will become very vocal should the 8am and 4pm hours pass and no one has fed me. Thanks for visiting our site!
Hi, my name is Emma, I joined the AVC team around May of 2019. I had been looking for an opportunity to join the AVC team for quite sometime, as I plan to follow through with an Animal Science career. You can find me in the back by the boarding facility over the weekends, or running around the building helping out as much as possible. As I’ve continued to work throughout the school year I can say I love the atmosphere of the office, I really do feel at home and comfortable at my work space. Plus who doesn’t like to have snuggle time with all the furry guests during an afternoon shift?!
Hello there! My name is Sam and I started with Adel Vet Clinic in May 2019. I will graduate college with my degree in biology and Spanish in 2022, with the hopes of getting into the Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine Program to pursue my dream of becoming a Veterinarian. You can catch me working at the clinic during the summer and on my breaks from school, but in my free time I love to read, spend time on the lake, and travel to new places! I have one furry family member named Kobie, but because he lives in Texas with my family, I snuggle the pets at work a little extra when I miss him.
